HK footballer Ma joins second-tier Shaanxi Union

XI'AN - China's second-tier football club Shaanxi Union announced on Thursday that Ma Hei-wai, member of team Hong Kong, China, has joined the club from the Eastern Sports Club of Hong Kong, China.

Ma stands 1.75 meters tall. The 21-year-old began his career with the Eastern Sports Club in the season 2020-2021. Before leaving Hong Kong for Shaanxi, Ma scored 17 goals, plus 13 assists in his 111 appearances.

As a winger and midfielder, Ma has participated in three games since being among Hong Kong, China squads in 2024. When facing Iran team at the World Cup Asian Qualifiers, he has scored a goal for team Hong Kong.

"Ma is nimble and has exceptional shooting and passing abilities. As a young player, Ma has boundless potential," Shaanxi Union stated in its media release.

In China League, China's second-tier football league, Shaanxi Union currently sits eighth in the table.
