Guoan defeats Teda, 10-man SIPG draw with Huanghai

SUZHOU, China - Zhang Xizhe and Alan Douglas each scored to help Beijing Guoan seal a 3-1 win over Tianjin Teda in the third round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), while Qingdao Huanghai's new coach Wu Jingui made his debut during his side's 1-1 draw against out-of-form Shanghai SIPG on Thursday.

Guoan midfielder Piao Cheng left the pitch on a stretcher due to a right-knee injury in the ninth minute, and was substituted by Douglas.

"What I know is that Piao may have trouble with his right knee, and he needs further diagnosis at hospital," Guoan coach Bruno Genesio said after the match.

Jonathan Viera Ramos cut in from the left to spot Douglas arriving at the far post to score with a low drive in the 39th minute, giving Guoan a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Rong Hao kept his cool to convert a curling shot on 61 minutes to get Teda back on level, also his third goal in the past three games.

In the 77th minute, Zhang Xizhe played a one-two with Li Ke then mesmerized Teda's keeper and fired into the net.

"Zhang played well in the past two games and I'm very pleased with him," said Genesio. "When we were in trouble, he substituted and did a great job."

Under pressure from Guoan center back Yu Dabao, youth Lan Jingxuan gifted an own goal, concluding Guoan's 3-1 victory.

Another match played Thursday in Suzhou saw 10-man Shanghai SIPG draw 1-1 with Qingdao Huanghai.

In a lifeless first half, both sides failed to finish their chances.

In the 49th minute, SIPG striker Marko Arnautovic dribbled past keeper and then knocked the ball into the net but was ruled out for offside.

SIPG defender Wei Zhen was banished by a straight red card in the 66th minute for a foul on Romain Alessandrini. Wang Dong scored the resulting penalty for Huanghai.

However, Alessandrini's foul on SIPG player Li Shenglong provided the Shanghai based club a late penalty on the 88th minute. Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior drove the ball home calmly to equalize the game 1-1.
