Zhejiang grab 3rd straight win, Tianjin suffer 9th loss in a row

QINGDAO, China - Wu Qian scored a game-high 26 points in just 35 minutes to help the Zhejiang Golden Bulls beat the Sichuan Blue Whales 107-74 for a three-game winning streak in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season.

Ty Lawson scored 26 points for Fujian, while Huang Yichao had 16 points, and Chen Linjian collected 15 points

Five players scored double digits, with Wang Yibo scoring 17 points, and Cheng Shuaipeng and Liu Zeyi both notching 16 points.

For Sichuan, Yuan Tangwen and Yuan Zhenliang both scored 17 points, while Zuo Zhennian added 12 points.

Sichuan head coach Zhou Jinli rued his side's many mistakes in the game. "We committed 24 turnovers and made the game very difficult." he said.

The Fujian Sturgeons eased past the Tianjin Pioneers 129-88, extending the Pioneers' losing streak to nine games.

Ty Lawson scored 26 points for Fujian, while Huang Yichao had 16 points, and Chen Linjian collected 15 points.

For Tianjin, He Siyu grabbed 26 points, Jin Xin finished with 13 points, and Shi Deshuai and Liu Shuai each contributed 12 points.

"Our defense was weak today. We didn't restrict Fujian's three-pointers and fast breaks well enough," rued Tianjin coach Liu Tie.

"It was an excellent game. We did what we had expected. Every player had a chance to play, and they were passionate and dedicated to the game," beamed Fujian coach Aleksandar Kesar.

In the day's other two games, the Beijing Royal Fighters beat the Guangzhou Loong Lions 106-102, and the Zhejiang Lions beat the Shandong Heroes 100-84.
