Three players from PSG women's team test positive for COVID-19

PARIS — French club Paris Saint-Germain confirmed on Saturday that three players from their women's team have tested positive for COVID-19.

"The results of the serological screening tests and PCR, carried out before the resumption of the activity, reveal three positive cases with COVID-19: two players of the U19 team and a player of the professional group," the capital-based club said in a statement.

PSG women's team finished runners-up in French Feminine Division 1 in the curtailed 2019-2020 season, three points behind champions Lyon.

The women's senior team are set to resume training on Monday in compliance with the imposed health protocol.

Earlier this week, PSG said three players from the men's side and a member of staff were infected by the virus during the lockdown but are "no longer contagious" after further tests.
