HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported its seventh death from COVID-19 and 14 new imported cases on Thursday.
According to a spokesman for the Princess Margaret Hospital, a 55-year-old man who tested positive for the coronavirus died on Thursday morning at the hospital after his condition worsened.
The patient had suffered a stroke in the Philippines and was brought to a local hospital at the end of May.
He was later escorted back to Hong Kong by air ambulance and was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital on Tuesday in serious condition, the spokesman said.

He subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 and died at 1:30 am Thursday, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health reported 14 new imported cases of the coronavirus.
The new cases involved nine males and five females aged between two and 39. All of them had travel history during the incubation period, according to a press release issued by the center.
The latest cases brought Hong Kong's infection tally to 1,193.
