Coronavirus: 13 infections linked to Buddhist worship hall

HONG KONG - Hong Kong confirmed one more case of the novel coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the total to 92 and the number of cases linked to a Buddhist worship hall in North Point to 13.

The latest patient is a 70-year-old woman who lives in Tseung Kwan O, according to the Hong Kong Department of Health. She told the authorities that she had been to Fook Wai Ching She in North Point.  

As of Thursday, the Department of Health has contacted 221 people who have been to the temple. 35 of them have been quarantined and 160 others placed under medical observation

A total of 13 confirmed cases of the virus in Hong Kong are linked to the worship hall. Nine of them had visited the place while the remaining four have had close contacts with them.

The temple is located on the 13th floor of Maylun Mansions on Shu Kuk Street where worshippers gathered occasional for meals. It is operated by volunteers.

Meanwhile, two more coronavirus patients were discharged from hospital on Thursday, bringing the total number of the cured cases to 26.
