BEIJING – China urges the United States to stop interfering in China's internal affairs and containing China's development under the guise of human rights, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
Spokesperson for the ministry Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a daily news briefing when asked to comment on the US move to place several Chinese companies on a list of businesses over so-called "forced labor" in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Guo said the US side has been continuously fabricating lies related to Xinjiang and using the so-called "forced labor" as an excuse to wantonly suppress Chinese enterprises, adding that China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this.

The so-called "forced labor" is purely a lie of the century fabricated by some anti-China elements, which aims to destabilize Xinjiang, smear China and contain China's development, Guo added.
China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, the spokesperson said.
