Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun on Wednesday expressed grave concern over continued regional tensions, following reports that Yemen's Houthi forces had used ballistic missiles and drones to strike targets, including Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry, a capital airport and an oil refinery.

"We oppose attacks on civilian targets, including civil airports," Guo said at a regular news briefing.

China calls on the relevant parties to pursue dialogue and negotiation to restore peace and stability in the Middle East at an early date, he added.
