China stands ready to work with Brazil to further advance the building of a China-Brazil community with a shared future, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks after Brazil's Superior Electoral Court announced on Sunday night that incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had won the presidential runoff.
"China has noted the announcement by Brazil's Superior Electoral Court that President Lula has won the second round of Brazil's presidential election," Guo said at a regular news briefing. "We extend our congratulations."
