Repair crews from China Mobile Tietong's Xizang branch have restored home broadband and dedicated line services in the county seat of Drachen, as well as a key mobile base station in Maru Township near the epicenter, following the magnitude-7.0 earthquake on Thursday night.
The branch dispatched eight emergency vehicles and 17 repair workers to the affected area, which has an average elevation of about 4,800 meters. After 12 hours of work, crews also established a dedicated communication line for the emergency command center, deployed emergency fiber-optic cables and expanded network capacity to support rescue operations.
They also installed fiber-optic lines for more than 40 households in temporary housing areas, with efforts shifting toward maintaining stable communications during the recovery.

Lhawang Chozang, a China Mobile employee at a service station in Maru Township, said six service stations had been set up across Drachen and Sog counties.
"We have restored our network signals, but basic customer services are just as important," he said.

The stations provide on-site assistance, free SIM-card replacements for residents who lost their cards in the earthquake, and measures to prevent service suspensions for affected residents and rescue workers, Lhawang said.
The company said it would continue network inspections, signal optimization and communications support at temporary settlements during resettlement and post-disaster reconstruction.
