Cultural aficionados will be up for a distinctive artistic experience with the East Kowloon Cultural Centre set to present three stage programs from November to December, combining multimedia, music, dance and interactive installations.
The programs, to be as part of the "Unbox EKCC 2026" series, are immersive and interactive electro live concert "IMMERSION", a choreographed duet of light and shadow "Sál" and research and development project "Don't stop, catch up, walk on."
Created by French music producer Verlatour, “IMMERSION” will run from Nov 27 to 29 at The Turns. The French artist blends electronic hedonism with modern synthwave – a whole retro-futuristic universe that gazes equally toward the dancefloor and the imagination.
Through real-time 3D point-cloud capture, every movement and gesture from the audience is transformed into projections and woven into the immersive scenographic space.
The second program, “Sál”, will take place at 8 pm on Dec 4 and Dec 5 at The Hall.
After exploring birth and life, the Italian artistic studio fuse* unveils “Sál” (Soul), the final chapter of its decade-long “Full Circle Trilogy”, shifting the focus to the horizon, to the boundary of human life, embracing the notion that everything is in a state of constant transformation, that everything is impermanent.
The live media performance simulates the instability around black holes using supercomputers, immersing two dancers in a cosmic world where journeys unfold into the unknown.
"Don't stop, catch up, walk on" will be staged at The Lab on Dec 11-12 and again on Dec 18-19 with meet-the-artist session after each performance.
Conceived by multi-disciplinary artist GayBird, the performance is an artistic research experiment which challenges the notion of performance in the digital age and exploring immersion as a spectrum, by bringing together virtual game environments, mediated soundwalk, immersive sound, moving images and human behavior.
Tickets are now on sale at URBTIX, with discounts set to end on Oct 12. Most tickets have 10‑20 percent off, and some eligible tickets can get up to 30 percent off.
Besides paid shows, free workshops, sharing sessions and exhibitions are also available. Some free activities require advance registration, and places are given on a first-come, first-served basis.
