KYIV – Ukrainian forces struck one of Russia's largest petrochemical complexes in the Tyumen region, causing fires and damage at the facility, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces said in a statement on Telegram on Monday.

"The petrochemical complex in Tobolsk produces basic raw materials for a wide range of industrial products, including those used in the defense industry," the statement said.

Ukrainian drones traveled more than 2,000 km to reach the target, it added.

Grain-exporting ports suspend services

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Agriculture Ministry said on Monday that three Ukrainian deep-water ports handling 90 percent of the country's agricultural exports have halted operations after Russian attacks.

The ministry said Russia has carried out at least 180 attacks on port infrastructure in the Greater Odesa area since the beginning of 2026.

Ukraine's grain exports in the 2026-2027 marketing year could fall to 29.6 million tonnes, down 54 percent from an earlier forecast, the UNN news agency reported.

The Greater Odesa region incorporates the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny.

Fighter jet crashes

On Monday evening, a MiG-29 fighter jet of Ukraine's air force crashed in the country's southern Odesa region during a combat mission, the air force said in a statement.

The pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft and was taken to a medical facility.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred as the pilot was carrying out a task of destroying enemy air targets.

The aircraft caught fire, causing the pilot to lose control despite attempts to save the jet.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
