MOSCOW/KYIV – Russian regional authorities said seven people were killed and dozens injured as a result of Ukrainian drone attacks on Monday.
The highest number of affected civilians was reported in the Belgorod region, where five people were killed and 27 injured after a Ukrainian drone hit a bus, said regional acting governor Alexander Shuvaev.
Acting governor of the Bryansk region Yegor Kovalchuk said an on-duty firefighter was killed in a drone attack and 13 people sustained injuries.
As a result of a drone hitting a store, a 20-year-old resident of Murmansk was killed in the Kursk region, said regional governor Alexander Khinshtein. He added that seven other people have sustained injuries.
In the Moscow region, which was targeted by a massive overnight drone attack, 10 people, including one child, were injured, said regional governor Andrei Vorobyov.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that from Sunday evening to Monday morning, air defense forces shot down 381 Ukrainian drones over multiple regions.
Drone attacks between Russia and Ukraine have been intensifying in the past months.
Russian missile attack on cargo vessel kills 5
On Sunday, Russian missiles attacked a Turkish-owned civilian cargo vessel sailing under the Guinea-Bissau flag, killing at least five people, according to the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
According to a statement by the naval forces, three Kh-59/Kh-69 cruise missiles struck the Golden Leo dry cargo ship, when it was heading out of the combat zone carrying a cargo of grain.
The strike triggered a fire on board. Eight crew members were evacuated to a hospital in Ukraine's Black Sea port city of Odesa, the statement said.
Five additional crew members remained missing, and rescue operations were ongoing.
Russia downs 917 drones in past day
Meanwhile, Russian forces shot down 917 fixed-wing Ukrainian drones, eight guided aerial bombs and four HIMARS multiple launch rocket system projectiles in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
In an official report, the ministry said Russian operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missile forces and artillery have hit Ukrainian assembly and storage sites for long-range drones, a logistics center, fuel-energy and transport infrastructure, assembly and storage workshops for unmanned surface vessels, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas.
The ministry added that forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed two Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels.

On Monday, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which oversees the largest route for transporting oil from the Caspian region to global markets, said a drone attack targeted the NELSA tanker near its Black Sea terminal. A previous attack was reported Sunday, hitting the ASIA and NISSOS IOS oil tankers and temporarily disrupting shipments.
