HONG KONG — A spectacular performance of 2,026 drones illuminated the night sky over Victoria Harbour on Wednesday evening as Hong Kong celebrated the 29th anniversary of the city’s return to the motherland.
Two shows – each lasting approximately 15 minutes – were held at Hung Hom New Waterfront, as part of a broader anniversary celebration.
The drone shows featured space-themed visuals, including the Chinese rocket Shenzhou and astronauts, paying tribute to the nation’s aerospace achievements and highlighting the city’s first astronaut Lai Ka-ying.
China Daily photographer Edmond Tang recorded the proud moments through his lens.
