A large-scale interdepartmental counter-terrorism and major-incident exercise, codenamed "Securewall", was conducted by the Hong Kong Police Force in collaboration with various government departments and relevant organizations from Tuesday night to the early hours of Wednesday morning at Hong Kong International Airport and Tung Chung.

The drill, which also served as the Airport Authority Hong Kong's biennial exercise codenamed "Carcanet", was held in preparation for the major international conferences to be hosted in Hong Kong later this year.

The exercise simulated a critical pre-conference scenario involving the arrival of international delegations. It was designed to test the city's emergency preparedness across a broad spectrum of critical areas, including immediate tactical intervention, emergency response, casualty triage and medical treatment, suspicious object handling, power failure response, and management of affected persons.

More than 1,400 personnel from various government departments and relevant organizations were mobilized for the exercise.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government published the photos on Wednesday.
