A spokesman for China's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that China appreciates France's sense of responsibility in moving to return cultural relics to their countries of origin.
Lin Jian made the remarks at a regular news conference when asked to comment on the French National Assembly's unanimous approval of a draft law on the restitution of cultural property acquired through illicit appropriation.
China looks forward to the bill completing the legislative process at an early date, Lin said, adding that China also expects to cooperate with France on the matter.
