HK welcomes tourist influx

HONG KONG – Hong Kong welcomed a large influx of visitors on Friday as the May Day Golden Week on the Chinese mainland kicked off. 

Various famous sightseeing spots, such as the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui and the Old Yau Ma Tei Police Station, were packed with visitors. 

According to the Immigration Department's estimate, around 980,000 mainland visitors will visit Hong Kong through various sea, land and air control points during the five-day Labour Day Golden Week from May 1 to 5.
