Lanterns — symbols of light, warmth, and new beginnings — remain a cherished part of the Chinese Spring Festival. This year, Guangzhou extended the festivities with the 90-day Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Lantern Carnival in Nansha district, running through May 10. Spanning 50 hectares at Tianhou Temple and Binhai Park, the celebrations dazzled visitors with hundreds of large-scale installations blending natural landscapes, historic architecture, and interactive technologies. China Daily photographer Parker Zheng captured these moments of luminous joy.
