HONG KONG - A lantern festival is going to illuminate South China's Guangzhou and attract visitors with a number of festive and thematic displays.

Theme "Bay Unity, Splendor Through the Ages", the 2026 Greater Bay Area Lantern Festival will take place at the Nansha Tianhou Palace Scenic Area and Binha Park, occupying a 53.8-hectare exhibition area for five thematic zones and hundreds of lantern installations. A 2.5-kilometer main route will showcase over 100 large lantern displays, and nearly 1,000 live performances.

The lighting carnival will run for 90 days from Feb 10 to May 10, covering Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, International Women’s Day and Labor Day.
