Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit the DPRK

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from Thursday to Friday, the Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said that China and the DPRK are traditional friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, and that maintaining, consolidating, and developing bilateral relations has always been an unwavering strategic policy of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.

Mao said Wang's visit is an important move by both sides to implement the common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, and to advance the development of bilateral ties.

China stands ready to work with the DPRK to strengthen strategic communication, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and promote the continued development of the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries, she said.
