HONG KONG – The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Hong Kong has reached a five-year collaboration arrangement with Art Basel, consolidating the special administrative region’s status as the exclusive regional host city.

Apart from holding the annual fair each March, Art Basel Hong Kong will continue to promote public art and education in the city and support the bureau in developing strategies to further enhance the local art ecosystem and market.

The agreement aims to deepen the SAR government's partnership with the world-renowned art fair over the next five years, the government said in a statement.

In 2025, a five-day fair featured 240 galleries from 42 countries and regions, attracting over 86,000 visitors, with more than half travelling from outside Hong Kong specifically for the event.

Looking ahead, the bureau said its close collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong will continue to foster the growth of the cultural and arts industries, delivering sustained economic and social benefits for the city.
