Eight disciplined services and auxiliary services under the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s Security Bureau will organize open-house events to deepen the public’s understanding of their work, achievements, and roles in safeguarding national security.

Scheduled from late this month through mid-April, the events will mark National Security Education Day on April 15, and will take place at various venues, including the disciplined services’ headquarters, training schools, divisional premises, and a local museum.

Residents can register for free admission through official websites starting today. Visits to the Hong Kong Police Force, the Civil Aid Service, and the Auxiliary Medical Service during their respective open houses do not require tickets.

The services have planned various activities to enhance public awareness of their efforts in preventing and thwarting national security threats, raise understanding of national security, and foster a positive environment for safeguarding national security and promoting law-abiding behavior.

The Immigration Service Institute of Training and Development and the Hong Kong Customs College will hold open days on April 18, followed by the Auxiliary Medical Service Headquarters the following day.

National Security Education Day, observed annually on April 15 across the country, including in the Hong Kong SAR, was designated by the Standing Committee of the 12th National People’s Congress on July 1, 2015. The day aims to raise public awareness of security risks, promote the Constitution and Basic Law, and strengthen national identity.
