A fishing boat hit a passenger ferry sailing from Lamma Island to Aberdeen on Wednesday morning.

All 46 passengers and 3 staff of Tsui Wah Ferry, which started its journey from the island’s Pak Kok Pier, were safe, according to Tina Huang, a China Daily reporter who was on board the vessel during the incident.

The fishing boat, coming from behind, struck the ferry on its port at 9:40 am.

Members from the Hong Kong Police Force, Marine Department and Fire Services Department rushed to the scene minutes into the collision.

The passengers were later transferred to another vessel that took them safely to the Aberdeen Pier at 10:35 am.
