
Hong Kong is set to mark the Year of the Horse with a fireworks display over Victoria Harbour at 8 pm on Feb 18, marking the second day of the Chinese New Year.
With the theme "Prosperity gallops across Hong Kong", a total of 31,888 firing shells will be launched over approximately 23 minutes, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government announced on Wednesday.
The event is sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
The show is planned to be structured in eight scenes, each symbolizing wishes for prosperity, harmony, and good fortune.

Spectators can expect a dazzling array of fireworks, including designs that mimic galloping horses, golden ingot patterns, and the Chinese character meaning "good fortune".
The spectacle will conclude with a grand finale titled "Triumphant achievement", featuring majestic crown-shaped fireworks followed by a sequence of high-density bursts, sending wishes for the prosperity of the motherland and good fortune to everyone.
Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 4 (FM 97.6 to 98.9) will broadcast synchronized music to enhance the experience for the public.
