HSBC Holdings Plc’s banking services in Hong Kong are gradually returning to normal after disruptions, according to a spokeswoman at the bank.

Among outages, the bank’s mobile banking app in Hong Kong couldn’t be accessed on Friday afternoon. It also suffered breakdowns in its city-wide computer network, affecting local branches, according to a local media report.

“Due to technical issue, our banking service is temporarily affected,” a message on the bank’s app said in the afternoon, adding the bank is “working to resume normal service”.

HSBC is the biggest bank in Hong Kong with more than 6 million retail customers, offering products across transaction banking, lending, wealth and insurance.
