PHNOM PENH -- The first batch of emergency humanitarian aid supplies provided by the Chinese government to Cambodia arrived at the Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh on Sunday.
The relief items included tents, blankets, and food, among others.
Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin and Cambodian Foreign Ministry Secretary of State Ung Rachana attended the handover ceremony.

Wang said that China's emergency humanitarian material assistance to Cambodia will play a role in helping the Cambodian people affected by the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand get out of the current predicament.
China welcomes the ceasefire announced by Cambodia and Thailand and will continue to play a positive and constructive role in consolidating the ceasefire situation for both parties, he added.

On behalf of the Cambodian government and people, Rachana sincerely thanked China for providing assistance, saying that the Cambodian government attaches great importance to the iron-clad friendship between Cambodia and China, and highly appreciates China's active and constructive role in the ceasefire and cessation of the armed conflict.
