A hero's farewell to fallen firefighter

The Hong Kong Fire Services Department (FSD) held a funeral with full honors on Friday for firefighter Ho Wai-ho, who died battling the Tai Po fire last month.

Ho, 37, sustained serious injuries on Nov 26 while responding to a firefighting and rescue operation at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. He subsequently lost his life.

Born in 1987, he joined the FSD in 2016 and was stationed at the Sha Tin Fire Station. Throughout his nearly nine-year career, he was recognized for his outstanding performance and dedication, participating in numerous fire and rescue missions.

In recognition of his exemplary service and sacrifice, Ho was posthumously conferred the honorary title of Senior Firefighter.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, and his fiancée.
