HONG KONG – The annual Hong Kong Book Fair will be held from July 16 to 22, bringing bookworms fresh perspectives on gourmet culture and future living lifestyles through an exhibition and over 600 activities.

Themed “Food Culture, Future Living”, the 35th edition of the fair runs concurrently with the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and World of Snacks at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Key speakers include writers Lung Ying-tai, Xu Zechen, and Zhu Jiaming, with dedicated programs for English-language authors highlighting Hong Kong’s role in global cultural exchange.

Passion for National Games

The Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo will kick off on Wednesday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring drone football and triathlon simulations to build excitement for the 15th National Games co-hosted by Hong Kong.

The weeklong expo supports the city’s six triathlon athletes, offering virtual public competitions and new sports gear displays. Aeromodeling debuts as a mass event, highlighting drone football’s evolution into a competitive sport.

Visitors can photograph mascots “Xiyangyang” and “Lerongrong”, learn about games events, and leave athlete encouragement messages at a “cheering net”. Star athletes Leung Ka-yu and Timothy Ho Chu-ting will share their journeys.

Data center grand gathering

The Data Center Asia Hong Kong is set to begin on Tuesday, featuring a large-scale exhibition, discussions among industry leaders, and extensive business exchange opportunities.

A key event for the data center industry in the Asia-Pacific region, the three-day event will cover multiple areas, including data center infrastructure, cloud services and virtualization, data center management, and sustainable development. More than 200 exhibitors and 600 buyers are expected to attend the expo.

There will be six summits, inviting above 100 industry experts and business leaders to deliver speeches on cutting-edge topics.

Animation, games & cultural integration

The 12th Shenzhen Gameshow will begin on July 18, with renowned Japanese voice actress Yuina confirmed to attend.

The three-day event will feature multiple characteristic pavilions, including exhibitions for popular IPs such as Ni Shui Han, Honor of Kings, and The Legend of Sword and Fairy, serving as a key platform for industry exchanges and collaboration.

As an annual animation and game industry event, the 40,000-square-meter exhibition will gather over 100 celebrities loved by audiences, including Huang Jingxiang, Yi Shuai, Zou Luyao, and Old Xian. It is expected to attract more than 200,000 visitors. Over 600 animation and gaming companies are expected to take part.

A dedicated Hong Kong and Macao Pavilion will be established, inviting artists from Hong Kong and Macao to join to enhance the cultural exchanges among the young generations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
