HONG KONG - Residents can have a date with the hugely popular characters from the Japanese manga series Chiikawa in Light Rail trains during this summer holiday.

MTR Corp has worked with organizers of "CHIIKAWA DAYS" exhibition to launch Chiikawa-themed Light Rail trains, which will make their debut on Saturday. The themed trains will operate at various stations in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, and Tin Shui Wai until Aug 31.

The themed trains will take passengers into the Chiikawa manga world, featuring the story's daytime forest in the background with the main characters Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi holding their signature "hunting sticks", while other characters enjoying snacks.

During the weekends, the trains will run on the “Tuen Mun Voyager” sightseeing route for passengers to take instagrammable photos. A set of limited "CHIIKAWA DAYS" themed gifts will be available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis at Siu Hong station, together with the "Light Rail Travel Pass" package.
