Revitalizing tradition: Pingshan Changshou Drama Valley celebrates Hakka heritage
By Wang Zhan

Pingshan Changshou Drama Valley (坪山长守戏剧谷), located in Shenzhen’s Pingshan District, is a project revitalizing and preserving the 300-year-old Hakka Changshou Village. Longma Entertainment (龙马社), a drama troupe led by renowned Chinese actor Zhang Guoli, has produced notable works such as the original drama I Love Peach Blossoms and a Chinese adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption. In addition, classic films and shadow puppet shows have received enthusiastic responses from audiences.

Beyond the theaters, the valley features a variety of amenities, including cafés, a library, guesthouses, and exhibition halls, fostering a vibrant cultural community.
