The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government is committed to promoting film development, as it is a “vital component” of the city’s thriving creative sector, said the head of the SAR’s trade office in London.
Gilford Law Sun-on, director-general of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, said this following the conclusion of the Focus Hong Kong film festival, which took place in Glasgow, United Kingdom from Dec 5 to 8.
Returning to Glasgow Film Theatre, the film festival has presented a wide range of Hong Kong productions to the UK audience, including award-winning documentarian Wong Siu-Pong’s Obedience, Ray Yeung’s queer drama All Shall be Well, and the 4K restored version of Ann Hui’s 2002 classic July Rhapsody.
