BEIJING - The Chinese Football Association announced on Tuesday that Beijing Guoan forward Zhang Yuning has been suspended for three games following his being sent off in a recent Chinese Super League game.

The striker was shown a red card in the 88th minute after he elbowed an opposition player in the face in the Beijing side's 0-0 draw with Zhejiang FC on August 16.

In addition to the three-game ban, he was also fined 30,000 RMB.

Zhang currently is with the Chinese national side preparing for the World Cup qualifier against Japan on Sept 5.
