Friday brought a lot of rain and gale for Hong Kong residents as they approached the weekend after a rainy week.

Heavy rains were reported from across the city as tropical storm Maysak edged closer.

The No 1 typhoon signal, which has been in force since 7:40 am on Thursday, will remain in effect Friday night and the first hours of Saturday, the Hong Kong Observatory announced.
