HONG KONG – Crowds of tourists and locals flocked to the Wan Chai harbourfront on Saturday night and watched 1,000 drones take flight and form patterns in the sky to celebrate the Cheung Chau Bun Festival and the birthday of the Buddha.

The 10-minute spectacle, which started at 8 pm, awed the onlookers as the drones formed dynamic and intricate patterns that resembled a lion, a temple, and the iconic bun tower of the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, on the eve of Mother's Day.
