Huawei to set up a global cloud factory service center in Qianhai

Huawei and Qianhai authorities in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, inked a strategic cooperation agreement in the field of industrial digital transformation and artificial intelligence on Wednesday.

According to Qianhai officials, they will jointly establish several projects such as the first Huawei global cloud center, a Greater Bay Area Huawei AI center, and a Shenzhen-Hong Kong AI computing center.

Qianhai officials say the cloud technology-based factory empowerment center will also serve as a major platform to support Hong Kong's new industrialization strategy

The cloud technology-based factory empowerment center will integrate industrial operators, designers, component suppliers and logistics providers, as well as the new generation industrial software system, to forge a large-scale industrial cluster of big data, AI training models, and service resources. It aims to realize the intelligent, digital, environmentally friendly, and high-end transformation of the manufacturing industry, with the initial focus on electronic circuit applications.

Qianhai officials say the center will also serve as a major platform to support Hong Kong's new industrialization strategy.

Qianhai, Huawei, Shanghai-based EmbedWay Technologies, and a Hainan-based investment firm under Jardine Energy Holdings Ltd will jointly build the AI computing center.
