Landslides leave 7 dead, 3 missing in Guangxi

Landslides triggered by Typhoon Haikui's remnants combined with monsoons have claimed seven lives and left three missing in Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, according to local authorities.

Over two days, from Sunday to Monday, extraordinary heavy rainstorms lashed many parts of the region, leading to massive landslides and fatalities in Fumian district, Luchuan county, and Bobai county of Yulin.

Precipitation in many parts of Yulin has exceeded historical records.

The search and rescue mission is underway.
