The United States-centered unipolar world order is getting replaced by a multipolar order, according to a newly published book titled "China and Eurasian Powers in a Multipolar World Order 2.0: Security, Diplomacy, Economy and Cyberspace".

Produced by British publisher Routledge, the book critically examines the cooperation and competition between powers – including China, the US, Russia, the European Union, and India – on security, diplomatic, economic, and cyberspace issues. It also focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative’s role in different regions of the Eurasian continent.

The book is a result of the teamwork of scholars from various countries, including Armenia, China, Austria, Bangladesh, Greece, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, Serbia, and Türkiye. Scholars from those countries joined the book’s online launch event held by the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research on July 10.

“(A) great team from different Eurasian states was united to prepare this contribution. They proved that even in this not-easy situation, which we call ‘Multipolar World Order 2.0’, it is possible to work together and find ways for further coexistence,” said Mher Sahakyan, the book’s editor.

Sahakyan, who is also the director of the China-Eurasia Council for Political and Strategic Research, earned his doctoral degree from China’s Nanjing University.

The Chinese Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation Commission sent a congratulatory letter on the book’s publication and launch event. The letter highlighted the importance of cooperation between Eurasian nations for mutual peace and academic cooperation.
