HONG KONG - Gathering at Hong Kong City Hall on Thursday, more than 100 adorable little contestants rendered an intense but fun competition at the final round of the Kindergarten-2 category of the "21st Century Cup" National English-Speaking Competition 2023 (Hong Kong Region).

The children delivered an impressive show with poetry recitation, picture book reading, prose reading, and English nursery rhymes.

After rounds of judges’ careful deliberations, Valerie Lau Sin-yu was crowned with the gold award, while Karlie Leung with the silver and Wong Chin-miu with the bronze. 

Organized by China Daily Hong Kong and its education brand 'VDO English', the “21st Century Cup” National English-Speaking Competition is the most prestigious English-speaking competition on the Chinese mainland and was brought to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2017.
