After the long-awaited resumption of normal travel between Hong Kong SAR and the Chinese mainland on Jan 8, more than 850,000 people journeyed between the two destinations during the first week. Ferries sounded their horns, buses crossed the border, and planes filled the skies once again. The lifeline between the city and t he motherland regained its momentum.
