Highlights of foreign congratulatory messages on Xi’s election as general secretary of CPCCC

Editor’s note: Leaders of political parties, governments and heads of state worldwide have sent congratulations to Xi Jinping on his election as general secretary of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The 20th CPC National Congress pointed the way forward as China and the CPC embark on a new journey, South African president and leader of the African National Congress Cyril Ramaphosa said in a message to General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee.

The ANC cherishes relations with the CPC, and under Xi’s leadership, relations between the two parties have been strengthened, he said, while expressing gratitude to the CPC for offering support and guidance. Ramaphosa said he believes that together with the world’s progressive forces, the CPC will continue to promote the realization of fairness, justice and peaceful development in the world.

Thabo Mbeki, former president of the ANC and former South African president, said he believes that under Xi’s leadership, China will make new achievements in its development, from which South Africa, the African continent and other countries will also benefit.

The CPC has been leading China’s progress, and Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee fully proves his high prestige among the Chinese people, said Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee will push forward the goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects, said Abou el-Fadhl Baadji, general secretary of Algeria’s National Liberation Front party, noting that his party is ready to enhance friendly relations with the CPC to serve the interests of both countries.

In the course of achieving the Second Centenary Goal of building a great modern socialist country in all respects, China will have closer cooperation with other developing countries, said Gaston Browne, leader of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party and the country’s prime minister.

Under Xi’s leadership, China has made remarkable achievements in many areas including poverty eradication, scientific and technological innovation and the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which has greatly improved the living standards of the Chinese people and set an example for countries around the world, said President of the Justicialist Party of Argentina and Argentine President Alberto Fernandez.

Xi has led the CPC in achieving China’s great development achievements in various fields and becoming a model for political parties in various countries to learn from, said Jose Luis Gioja, vice president of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. He expressed the firm belief that the CPC will continue to follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and march forward bravely to achieve the Second Centenary Goal.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed his belief that under Xi’s leadership, the CPC will play an even greater role in maintaining national stability and development and improving people’s well-being, and that Armenia and China will write a new chapter in their traditional friendship.

Ilham Aliyev, chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party of Azerbaijan and the country’s president, said Xi’s election fully demonstrates the trust of all CPC members in and their support for him. He said he expects the ruling parties of the two countries to make new contributions to the friendship and friendly cooperation between the people in both nations.

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain said he looks forward to working with Xi to strengthen and consolidate Bahrain-China cooperation in various fields, so as to bring more benefits to the two countries and their people.

Sheikh Hasina, president of the Bangladesh Awami League and the country’s prime minister, extended a warm welcome to Xi’s vision of building a human community with a shared future and sincerely thanked Xi for his strong support for the economic and social development of developing countries over the years. She said she is confident that in this era of challenges, China will continue to shoulder the important task of maintaining world peace and stability.

Rashed Khan Menon, chairman of the Workers Party of Bangladesh, said: “China’s peaceful rise will be a blessing for the world to promote common peace and progress.”

Under Xi’s strong leadership, the CPC Central Committee has united and led the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups in successfully coping with various challenges, said Mia Mottley, leader of the Barbados Labour Party and also Barbadian prime minister, adding that she firmly believes that the CPC will bring a brighter future for China and the world.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Xi’s reelection as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee fully demonstrates Xi’s high prestige and the firm support of more than 96 million CPC members. Lukashenko expressed belief that the goal of building a great modern socialist country in all respects will be achieved under Xi’s strong leadership.

Extending his warm congratulations on Xi’s election, the Fourth King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, said that under Xi’s strong leadership, China has achieved unprecedented stability and prosperity and made important contributions to safeguarding world peace and development.

Bolivia and China are brotherly countries that support and help each other, said Evo Morales, chairperson of Bolivia’s Movement Towards Socialism party and former Bolivian president. Xi’s election will promote balanced and multipolar development of regional forces, he said.

Milorad Dodik, president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said under Xi’s leadership, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, laying a solid foundation for building a great modern socialist country and advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts. Dodik said he firmly believes that Xi will steer China toward greater achievements of development.

China is one of major countries in the world with foremost influence and plays an important role on the world stage, said Bakir Izetbegovic, chairman of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Party of Democratic Action and vice-chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly. He said he looks forward to working with Xi to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties and enhance friendly relations between the two countries.

Highly appreciating Xi’s endeavors to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between Brazil and China, outgoing Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro voiced high confidence that bilateral relations will achieve greater development.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Brazil’s former president and new president-elect, wished General Secretary Xi Jinping and all the Chinese people greater achievements on the new journey, saying that Brazil and China should deepen bilateral relations and jointly contribute to building a fairer global governance system.

Gleisi Hoffmann, president of the Workers’ Party of Brazil, said she believes that Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee will guide the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics to new achievements.

Expressing his belief that under the CPC’s leadership, China will become a great modern socialist country in all respects, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah said he expects that China will continue to play its strategic leading role as a major country and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries.

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni sent his sincere and warm congratulations on Xi’s election on behalf of Queen Mother Norodom Monineath, the royal family and the Cambodian people. He is confident that Xi will better unite and lead the CPC and Chinese people of all ethnic groups to advance the cause of building a modern socialist country in all respects, and to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization.

The king said he looks forward to working with Xi to carry on bilateral traditional friendship and promote the building of the Cambodia-China community with a shared future, so as to bring more benefits to the two countries and their people.

Under Xi’s leadership, the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics has made great achievements that have attracted world attention, said Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People’s Party and Cambodian prime minister. He said he firmly believes that Xi’s foresight and spirit of hard work will surely lead China to new and greater achievements and the realization of the Second Centenary Goal.

He also said he looks forward to maintaining close cooperation with Xi, so as to push Cambodia-China relations and the building of a community with a shared future to a higher level.

President of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement and Cameroonian President Paul Biya expressed confidence that under Xi’s leadership, the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two parties and between the two countries will be strengthened.

Comorian President Azali Assoumani said he believes Xi will lead China to continuous prosperity and a bigger role on the international stage.

The Congolese Labor Party believes that Xi’s election will usher in a new era and lay a more solid foundation for China’s development and the building of a human community with a shared future, said Denis Sassou Nguesso, chairman of the Central Committee of the Congolese Labor Party and president of the Republic of the Congo.

Alassane Ouattara, leader of the Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace of Cote d’Ivoire and the country’s president, congratulated Xi on behalf of his party as well as in his own name, wishing China prosperity and progress.

Former Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said he believes that Xi will continue to lead China to greater development and play an important role in safeguarding world peace and promoting common development.

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades said that thanks to Xi’s efforts, Cyprus and China have forged closer ties. He said he believes that the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries in various fields will be further strengthened.

Czech President Milos Zeman congratulated Xi on his election, saying it is believed that under Xi’s leadership, China will continue prospering, and cooperation between the two countries in various fields will bear new fruits.

Under Xi’s leadership, China has made historic achievements, noted Roosevelt Skerrit, leader of the Dominica Labour Party and prime minister of the country, saying that Xi’s election reflects the strong support for him from the party and the Chinese people, and that he expects the CPC to play a bigger role in global affairs.

As an outstanding leader of the CPC and the Chinese people, Xi has won respect across the world, said president of the Prosperity Party and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, voicing his hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the CPC and the Prosperity Party.

Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party, expressed the expectation that the relations between his party and the CPC as well as the ties between the two countries will be deepened, so as to bring more opportunities to bilateral cooperation in various areas. He voiced confidence that under Xi’s leadership, the Chinese people will continue achieving development and prosperity.

President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embalo said that under Xi’s outstanding leadership, China has made historic achievements in economic and social development, scientific and technological innovation and other fields, and will usher in an even better future.

Viktor Orban, president of the Hungarian Fidesz party and prime minister of Hungary, expressed his sincere congratulations on Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Noting that China’s economy and society have developed rapidly over the past decade, and that Hungary-China relations have also achieved remarkable results, Orban spoke highly of the comprehensive strategic partnership established between the two countries and said he looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with China in the future.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended sincere greetings and congratulations to Xi, saying that he looks forward to working with Xi to give new impetus to the development of India-China relations.

Prakash Karat, former general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), said the reelection of Xi as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee is an “important step” which will further strengthen the development of China as a major economic power and also provide the leadership to fulfill China’s role as a global power to promote peace and development around the world.

Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister of India’s Kerala state and senior poitburo member of the CPI-M, said the election of the new CPC Central Committee, Political Bureau and Standing Committee of the Political Bureau as well as Xi’s reelection to the highest responsibilities of the Party and country underlines the unity of the CPC and its influence among the people of China.

Senior CPI-M leader and Political Bureau member Mariam Alexander Baby noted that China has eradicated thousand-year-old absolute poverty, and that Xi has stressed protecting nature through sustainable development. Moreover, “Xi’s leadership to fight corruption at different levels is highly appreciated,” he said.

Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the CPI(M), said the 20th CPC National Congress has made major decisions and plans, which is of great significance to fulfilling the CPC’s original aspiration and founding mission, and leading China toward the Second Centenary Goal. He expressed his belief that the goals and tasks set at the 20th CPC National Congress will be achieved.

D. Raja, general secretary of the Communist Party of India, said: “China is building a strong socialist country with Chinese characteristics” under Xi’s leadership. “We will look forward to China and its role in global politics,” he said.

N. K. Premachandran, senior leader of the Revolutionary Socialist Party and member of the Indian parliament, congratulated Xi and said India and China should grow together toward peace and development because the two Asian giants have to grow together.

Megawati Sukarnoputri, chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and former president of the country, expressed the expectation that China will play a bigger role in the international arena and jointly push for the establishment of a peaceful and just international order.

Faced with grave challenges, the world should take on the mission of promoting peace and development and work tirelessly to achieve it, said Italian President Sergio Mattarella, extending his warm congratulations to Xi.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi extended his sincere wishes that Xi will lead the Chinese people to achieve new magnificent goals and embrace brighter prospects.

Asadollah Badamchian, secretary-general of Iran’s Islamic Coalition Party, said Xi’s election demonstrates the high-level trust of the Chinese people in him. Badamchian said he hopes that under Xi’s guidance, Iran-China friendly cooperation will be continuously strengthened, bringing more benefits to other developing countries.

Japan and China shoulder an important responsibility of maintaining regional and world peace and prosperity, said Fumio Kishida, president of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan and Japanese prime minister. Kishida noted that he exchanged congratulatory messages with Xi recently on the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China, and reviewed the consensus reached by the two sides.

He said he would like to strengthen communication with Xi to show the direction for the development of Japan-China relations to the people of the two countries and the international community, and vigorously promote the building of a constructive and stable bilateral relationship.

Natsuo Yamaguchi, leader of the Komeito party of Japan, said his party stands ready to work together with the CPC to forge a constructive and stable Japan-China relationship so as to make contributions to international peace and stability.

Former Japanese prime minister Yukio Hatoyama said under Xi’s outstanding leadership, the CPC has led the Chinese people to make epoch-making achievements, expressing confidence that China will forge ahead on the road of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and make even greater contributions to the world.

Stressing that the complete success of the 20th CPC National Congress is of great historical significance on the road leading toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Xi’s election proves that he enjoys a high-level of support from all Chinese people. He expressed willingness to work with Xi to further deepen the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Chinese people have made great development achievements thanks to the CPC’s unremitting efforts and Xi’s motivational role as the leader of the CPC, said Azat Peruashev, chairman of the Ak Zhol Democratic Party of Kazakhstan.

Leader of the United Democratic Alliance party and Kenyan President William Ruto said on behalf of the Kenyan people and in his own name, he would like to warmly congratulate Xi on the election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Xi’s people-centered and dedicated leadership have set an example, Ruto said, adding that Kenya looks forward to working with China to build a vibrant Africa-China community with a shared future.

Moses Wetangula, leader of the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy-Kenya party and speaker of Kenya’s National Assembly, said he looks forward to working with Xi to deepen relations between Kenya and China and jointly embrace a brighter future.

Under Xi’s leadership, China has made remarkable achievements in various fields, said Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, adding that he highly cherishes the traditional friendship between the two countries, and believes the Kuwait-China strategic partnership will achieve greater development.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said that the election results of the 20th CPC National Congress showed the high trust and support of the CPC and the Chinese people for Xi. In recent years, Kyrgyzstan-China relations have developed rapidly, and Kyrgyzstan is willing to continue to deepen cooperation with China to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations, he added.

Aibek Matkerimov, chairman of the Ata-Jurt Kyrgystan party, said that he believes under Xi’s leadership, China will surely achieve greater prosperity and development.

Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh expressed confidence that under Xi’s leadership, China will successfully achieve the Second Centenary Goal of building a great modern socialist country in all respects to continue to benefit the Chinese people.

The 20th CPC National Congress has laid out a blueprint for China’s future development, said Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, chairman of the Mongolian People’s Party and Mongolian prime minister. Noting that Xi has led China to gain major achievements in various fields, consolidating and enhancing China’s status and influence in international and regional affairs, Moroccan King Mohammed VI said he looks forward to working with Xi to continue to consolidate the two countries’ strategic partnership.

Secretary-General of the Istiqlal Party and Minister of Equipment and Water of Morocco Nizar Baraka expects his nation to further strengthen cooperation with the CPC and China, a friendly country with a long history, so as to achieve mutual benefit and promote the values of dialogue and peace.

Filipe Nyusi, head of the Mozambique Liberation Front party and Mozambican president, said he firmly believes that under Xi’s leadership, the resolutions of the 20th CPC National Congress will be effectively implemented to improve the well-being of the Chinese people and also bring more benefits to humanity.

Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and also Pakistani prime minister, said that under the leadership of General Secretary Xi, China has achieved world-renowned achievements in all fields of the cause of mankind. Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani extended sincere congratulations to Xi on his election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov said that under Xi’s leadership, China will achieve the goal of building a great modern socialist country by building on its achievements in the past decade.

The 20th CPC National Congress has achieved important outcomes, and Xi’s election has shown the trust and support of the Chinese people extended to him, said Sergey Mironov, chairman of A Just Russia-Patriots-For Truth party. Mironov said he believes that Xi will continue to lead the Chinese people in accomplishing all tasks and goals.

Polish President Andrzej Duda congratulated Xi on his election and expressed hope that the two countries will deepen dialogue and exchanges in various fields.

Noting that he believes that Xi will lead China to new achievements on the development path ahead, Vucic said Serbia looks forward to stronger friendly cooperation with China.

Tomislav Nikolic, former president of Serbia and president of the National Council for Cooperation with China and Russia, said China has made extraordinary progress in the past 10 years under Xi’s leadership. Xi’s devotion to the people and his leadership wisdom have contributed to the economic, cultural and social prosperity of China and even the whole of humankind, he said.

China has scored remarkable achievements in the past decade under Xi’s strong leadership, said leader of the Sierra Leone People’s Party and Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio, expressing his belief that the 20th CPC National Congress will open a new chapter in the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Sierra Leone and China.

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol said he is looking forward to keeping close communication and cooperation with Xi to maintain peace, stability and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, and wished China prosperity.

Chairman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit expressed his appreciation for the CPC’s long-term support for the SPLM and the country. Kiir said he and the SPLM will be committed to close cooperation with Xi and the CPC, and to promoting the continuous development of friendly relations between the two parties and two countries, so as to realize the best interests of both parties, both countries and their people.

Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan wished Xi success in this noble position, and hopes the friendly Chinese people will achieve continuous progress and prosperity under Xi’s leadership.

Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, China has made significant achievements in economic growth and improvement of people’s living standards, and the country has increasingly become a respected and important force on the international stage, said Robert Fico, leader of the Direction-Social Democracy party and former prime minister of Slovakia.

Saying that he highly admires Xi’s foresight and strong leadership, former Slovenian president Danilo Turk said he hopes Xi will lead China to continuously achieve new progress and make greater contributions to promoting world peace and development.

Leader of the United National Party and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe extended his congratulations on the successful conclusion of the 20th CPC National Congress and Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, saying he looks forward to the greater development of Sri Lanka-China relations.

Dinesh Gunawardena, leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna and prime minister of Sri Lanka, said he firmly believes that under the strong leadership of Xi, China will achieve greater progress, and the friendship and cooperation between Sri Lanka and China will be further deepened.

The CPC’s great achievements in building a modern socialist country in all respects are impressive, said chairman of Suriname’s Progressive Reform Party and Surinamese President Chandrikapersad Santokhi. He expressed his sincere hope that China will continue to play an active role in shaping a peaceful and friendly international environment, adding that he stands ready to work with Xi to promote the sound development of the Suriname-China strategic partnership of cooperation.

China has provided the world with a solution to poverty alleviation of milestone significance, said Ronnie Brunswijk, head of the General Liberation and Development Party and the vice president of Suriname.

Noting that China always upholds principle and justice, safeguards peace and is committed to promoting the common development of humanity, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that people across the world have new expectations for China.

Hilal Hilal, assistant secretary-general of Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party of Syria, said he believes Xi will lead the Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China to unswervingly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, so as to achieve greater progress and prosperity in China.

Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee fully proves that he enjoys high prestige, said Emomali Rahmon, head of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan and Tajik president. The decisions made at the 20th CPC National Congress will provide guidance for China’s progress, he said, adding that he is ready to work with Xi to broaden and deepen Tajikistan-China relations.

Xi’s election fully demonstrates the Chinese people’s trust and confidence in him, said chairperson of the Revolutionary Party of Tanzania and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, wishing Xi greater success in leading the country and serving the people.

Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China has made remarkable achievements in many important fields, said Taur Matan Ruak, president of the People’s Liberation Party of Timor-Leste and prime minister of the country. Timor-Leste is willing to learn from China’s development achievements and modernization path as it strives to build its own country, he added.

Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, president of the Union for the Republic of Togo and the country’s president, expressed his confidence that the CPC will lead the Chinese people in advancing the great cause of building a modern socialist country in all respects.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also chairman of the Justice and Development Party, said that he was pleased to hear of Xi’s election as general secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC and expressed his heartfelt congratulations, adding that he would like to further deepen Turkiye-China relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdymukhamedov said the 20th CPC National Congress fully demonstrated that the Chinese people fully trust their leader and support the CPC’s policies of achieving comprehensive modernization, realizing national rejuvenation and enhancing people’s well-being under Xi’s wise leadership. Berdymukhamedov expressed willingness to continue to carry out dialogues with rich content and high mutual trust.

Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee fully demonstrates his prestige as a great leader of the contemporary age and the heartfelt support of the Chinese people for him, said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan. Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era will guide the Chinese people to achieve their goals, said Berdimuhamedov, who is also former Turkmen president.

Under Xi’s leadership, the CPC will continue to lead China to continue marching forward along the journey of developing the national economy, building a harmonious society and advancing great reforms, said Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan Ata Serdarov.

Yoweri Museveni, chairman of Uganda’s National Resistance Movement and Ugandan president, said he expects to work with Xi to continuously promote the common development and prosperity of the two countries, so as to bring benefits to their people.

Under Xi’s leadership, China has made unprecedented achievements, said Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, adding that he looks forward to working with Xi to elevate the mutually beneficial relations between the two countries to a higher level.

President of Vanuatu Nikenike Vurobaravu said he firmly believes that under Xi’s leadership, the CPC will continue to unite and lead the Chinese people to greater development achievements, and play a more important role in the international community. Vurobaravu said he is looking forward to working with Xi to build a closer comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

President of Vanuatu’s Vanua’aku Pati party and Prime Minister Bob Loughman said he firmly believes that the CPC will unswervingly lead the Chinese people to realize high-quality development and comprehensive modernization.

Alatoi Ishmael Kalsakau, leader of the Union of Moderate Parties of Vanuatu, also the country’s deputy prime minister and minister of internal affairs, said the CPC adheres to a people-centered development philosophy and an independent foreign policy of peace, which is an important inspiration for Vanuatu and other developing countries.

Ban Ki-moon, chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia and former secretary-general of the United Nations, said guided by Xi’s vision of building a human community with a shared future, China has firmly upheld the international system with the United Nations at its core, practiced multilateralism and made important contributions to tackling global challenges.

Xi’s election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee reflects the Chinese people’s trust in him, as he shoulders the important responsibility of leading China to a higher level of development, said Nicolas Maduro, leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and Venezuelan president. The PSUV and the Venezuelan people are willing to advance the socialist cause together with the brotherly Chinese people, he said.

Sultan al-Barakani, assistant secretary-general of the General People’s Congress party of Yemen and speaker of the Yemeni parliament, said he firmly believes the CPC will surely achieve new great victories under its new leadership, expressing the willingness to join hands with China and the CPC on the journey of reform and development.

Noting that Zambia and China boast a long history of all-weather friendship and fruitful cooperation in various fields, Hakainde Hichilema, president of Zambia’s United Party for National Development and president of the country, said he looks forward to working with Xi to deepen bilateral relations for the benefit of their people.

Xi’s election demonstrates the firm confidence and absolute trust of the Chinese people in his wise leadership, said Emmerson Mnangagwa, first secretary of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front, and Zimbabwean president.
