Ghana's Hearts of Oak win first title in 12 years

ACCRA - Ghanaian top-flight club Accra Hearts of Oak won the premier league for the first time in 12 years on Sunday with a game to spare.

The Accra-based club was held to a 1-1 draw by the Liberty Professionals in the penultimate round of matches of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Hearts thus sits on top of the GPL log with 63 points while second-placed Kumasi Asante Kotoko follows with 57 points after week 33 round of matches.

The yet-to-be crowned Ghana champions last won the premier league in 2009.
