KUWAIT CITY - Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accepted on Monday the resignation of the government submitted by the prime minister, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
According to an Amiri Decree, the Emir instructed the ministers to run urgent affairs until formation of a new government in the Gulf country that sees frequent cabinet reshuffles.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah submitted on Jan 13 the resignation of his government to the Emir.

Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad met on Jan 12 with Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and the other ministers, where Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali presented the resignation of all cabinet members "in the light of current developments regarding the relations between the National Assembly and the government, and what the national interest may warrant," according to KUNA.
The Kuwaiti government led by Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad was formed on Dec 14, 2020.
