TEHRAN - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that his country is ready to re-embrace its nuclear commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal if other parties of the deal uphold their relevant commitments.
In a press conference broadcast live from the state TV, Rouhani urged the incoming US administration to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and implement its commitments under the accord.

Rouhani said that his government would not allow the end of US sanctions against Iran to be delayed.

"The government would do its utmost so that the burden of oppressive and wrong sanctions would be lifted from the shoulder of the (Iranian) people," he said.
World powers and Iran reached JCPOA in 2015 to solve issues concerning the Iranian nuclear program. In 2018, the United States withdrew from JCPOA despite protests from all other parties.
Rouhani said Iran will not accept renegotiations of the 2015 nuke deal. He made the remarks with reference to the likelihood of next US administration's return to the JCPOA and subsequent negotiations over the mutual issues.
Rouhani also ruled out possibility of negotiations over Iran's ballistic missile program with the West.
