XI’AN - Nigerian striker Kingsley Onuegbu has joined China League One side Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic, the club revealed on Sunday.
Onuegbu, 34, was born in Nigeria and grew up in Germany, where he was top goalscorer in the country's third-tier league in 2013-14 and 2016-17.

He started his career in the city of Idar-Oberstein and has played over 350 league matches in both Germany and Cyprus, scoring 128 goals and contributing 31 assists.
The Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced on August 26 that the postponed 2020 China League One season will kick off on September 12.

The CFA said that the second-tier league will be contested behind closed doors. The league's opening segment will see the 18 teams divided into three groups, where teams will play each other twice in a traditional home-away round robin format.
Chang'an Athletic are in Group B with Meizhou Kejia, Guizhou Hengfeng, Zhejiang Greentown, Liaoning Shenyang and Jiangxi Liansheng. All Group B matches will be played in Meizhou, Guangdong province.
