Integrated cooking drives new kitchen experience
By Edith Lu

Amid rapid urbanization and people’s relentless pursuit of a better life, China’s kitchen appliances market has seen exponential growth in recent years.

According to a market survey, the total value of the nation’s kitchen electrical appliances market had reached almost 68 billion yuan (US$9.72 billion) in 2018. Range hoods, water heaters, gas stoves and rice cookers are among the sought-after products, while sales of dishwashers and ovens are also brisk.

As consumers are more concerned about leveraging kitchen space, the demand for multifunctional cookers, range hoods, gas stoves, disinfecting tableware cabinets, as well as ovens and steam ovens, is growing.

To optimize the cooking experience, the “Integrated Cooking Center 2.0” by Fotile has strengthened the various functions of appliances. It can save time and space, with everything in reach and in order

Unlike a simple combination of different kitchen appliances, the “Integrated Cooking Center” launched by Fotile Group, which specializes in manufacturing high-end electrical kitchenware, could make these appliances operate more collaboratively.

Consumers can customize the combination according to their own preferences, putting a hob together with a disinfecting cabinet, or a steam oven, or an oven with both baking and steaming functions.

As consumers seek various cooking functions, the number of kitchen appliances owned by Chinese mainland families is rising. While an average family might have had at least five appliances in the kitchen previously, having 10 today is not unusual.

But, with too many appliances around, the kitchen can easily get clogged up. As a result, families find their kitchens having “shrunk” in size, hampering their cooking chores.

To optimize the cooking experience, the “Integrated Cooking Center 2.0” by Fotile has strengthened the various functions of appliances. It can save time and space, with everything in reach and in order.

The integrated kitchen can enable consumers to do six dishes and one soup in 30 minutes as they can complete a series of tasks, such as stir-frying pork and steaming fish, at the same time.

Consumers are also offered several different installation methods of built-in kitchen designs. Although such designs are nothing new, they have become popular in the past few years, with many kitchen appliances launched in recent years following this trend. The designs, which fit in well with the “holistic kitchen” concept, are popular among younger consumers -- the average mainstream consumer groups for today’s kitchen appliances.

The integrated kitchen is more like a smart kitchen system, with connectivity between kitchen appliances and smartphones or tablet computers. Users can easily follow recipe instructions on their smart phone and prepare excellent meals.

Moreover, when the hob or the oven is in use, the range hood will be turned on automatically to prevent airborne grease forming. The hob can be fitted with intelligent circuit protection devices, with an automatic gas supply cut-off when they are switched off or when there’s a power leakage.

The cookers are also eco-friendly -- they purify the air almost completely, removing most of the grease created in the cooking process. Today, the three main qualities consumers consider when buying range hoods are product design, fume extraction rate and noise level.

The fierce competition in the kitchen appliances market has moved from prices to technology, with companies shifting their focus to the medium- to high-end market. Many manufacturers are engaged in extensive research and development. Different product models and functions have been designed to suit consumers’ cooking habits.

Smart cooking appliances are expected to change the whole industry from energy consumption to cooking experience, allowing more cooking options and life propositions for more users.
