Argentinian striker Funes Mori tests positive for coronavirus

MONTERREY - Monterrey striker Rogelio Funes Mori said Wednesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Rogelio Funes Mori has scored 95 goals in 186 matches for Monterrey

The 29-year-old Argentinian has no physical symptoms but said he has begun a period of self-isolation to protect his family and teammates.

"I want to tell you that I tested positive for COVID-19. I'm asymptomatic," Funes Mori said on Instagram. "Everyone in my family tested negative. I am in excellent health and decided to share this news to help raise awareness. Now it's time to recover so that I can train again. I'll be back in 10 days."

Funes Mori, who is the twin brother of Villarreal and Argentina international defender Ramiro Funes Mori, has scored 95 goals in 186 matches for Monterrey, since joining the club from Benfica in 2015. He has been capped once for the Argentina's national team.

Mexico has over 124,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which more than 14,600 have resulted in deaths.
