BUENOS AIRES - River Plate and Argentina international goalkeeper Franco Armani on Thursday reiterated a desire to end his career at Colombia's Atletico Nacional, but ruled out a return to his former club in the near term.
Franco Armani won 13 trophies during his seven years in Medellin, including the 2016 Copa Libertadores - South America's top club competition
Armani has two years left on his River contract but has not forgotten a promise he made to Nacional fans when he left the club in January 2018.
"My idea is to retire at Nacional," the 33-year-old said in an Instagram Live session. "Obviously I can't say for sure if that will happen because life and football have their twists and turns. But that's what I have in mind."

He has fond memories of Nacional and their fans, who bade him an emotional farewell at the Atanasio Girardot stadium following his last match for the club.
But for now, Armani is focused on achieving success with River Plate and Argentina's national team.
"Right now I am happy at River," said Armani, whose wife is from Medellin. "The club welcomed me with open arms and I'm fortunate to be part of a very strong squad. I'm not in a hurry to leave and at the moment I'm only thinking about the two years that I have left on my River contract."
