Hong Kong has become a critical channel for electronics enterprises seeking to go global, particularly through major trade fairs that bridge them with international markets, according to exhibitors from the Chinese mainland.

With the debut of the dedicated GoGlobal Connect Zone, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) — organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and opening today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre — has drawn 130 buyer delegations from 65 markets.

“Our goal this time is to extend the exhibition into a service gateway for enterprises expanding overseas, further leveraging Hong Kong’s role as a superconnector and ‘super value-adder’,” said Vivian Chan, the HKTDC’s associate director of technology and digital innovation.

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the ElectronicAsia trade fair, which run concurrently today through Friday, are bringing together over 3,200 exhibitors to showcase their latest electronics products and innovative technologies under three main themes: artificial intelligence and robotics, smart living, and next-generation entertainment.

With overseas orders currently accounting for only 10 percent of its sales, Guangdong Linxai Intelligent Technology Co Ltd, a robot-dog manufacturer on the Chinese mainland, brought its new model to the fair with the goal of expanding into the Southeast Asian market, said Wen Qiang, the company’s sales director.

Viewing Hong Kong as an international commercial hub connecting the Chinese mainland with global markets, Wen said that the city’s well-established business environment, comprehensive professional services network, and concentration of investors, industry partners, and customers make it an ideal exhibition destination for Linxai.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on Sept 16 released the 2026 Policy Address and the First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development (2026-2030), setting out priorities that include consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong’s role as an international trade center, accelerating the city’s development into an international innovation and technology hub, and deepening the application and development of AI.

As a first-time participant at the Autumn Electronics Fair, L’Atitude 52°N, a Berlin-based smart-eyewear company with a research and development center in Shenzhen, hopes to seize the opportunity to network with global suppliers and potential clients.

Robin Wang, L’Atitude product manager, said, “As a startup team, the platform provided by the HKTDC connects us with industry professionals and capital through various activities.” Expressing optimism about the fair, Wang said that the team expects to execute its global strategy through its exposure in the city.
