TEHRAN – Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said Sunday the country is in an "all-out" economic, military, and security war with the "enemies."

Despite the US pressure, "we are standing and making efforts to serve the people in the face of this unequal war," Pezeshkian said in a televised speech carried by the official news agency IRNA.

The government is making "wholehearted" efforts to reduce inflation and resolve people's economic problems, he added.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said in a statement Sunday that the United States has no other way but to speak respectfully with the Iranian people, according to IRNA.

The anti-Iran economic operation claimed by US President Donald Trump is a "recurring scenario and the same bullying that always occurs in US policies," Araghchi said, adding, "In a sense, it is a repetitive film that we have watched over and over and know how to deal with."

In a Wednesday post on Truth Social, Trump announced "the most crushing economic operation ever taken" against any country providing a lifeline to Iran.

"This will be Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale," he said, calling the move "an ECONOMIC D-DAY."

On June 18, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on ending the war in the region on all fronts, including Lebanon. Under the MoU, they were scheduled to hold negotiations within 60 days, which ended on Monday, to reach a final agreement, but the fate of the talks remains unclear following the escalation between the two countries last month.

Official: Iran to consider any participation in US economic operation ‘act of war’

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warned that the country will consider any state's participation in or support for the US anti-Iran economic operation as an "act of war."

In a social media post, Rezaei said, "If the economic war continues, not a single drop of oil will be exported, neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from anywhere in the Persian Gulf. Iran will regard any country's participation in or support for America's economic war against the Iranian people as an act of war."

Iran: Violating vessels to face restrictions in Hormuz Strait

Also on Sunday, Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), the body responsible for maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, also announced that vessels violating Iranian protocols for transiting the waterway will face restrictions on their future passages.

It made the announcement in a post on social media platform X while listing some of the restrictions as "fines, detention, or confiscation."

The PGSA called on "cargo owners shipping to and from the Persian Gulf" to review the list of "Non-Compliant Vessels" on its website prior to chartering to avoid potential issues.

Hassan Qashqavi, spokesman of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy committee, said on Sunday that the committee has approved an article of a draft plan aimed at safeguarding security in the strait, under which the country will charge fees for the services it provides in the waterway, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

He said that the article was approved during the committee's Sunday meeting, saying based on it, fees will be charged for the navigation, environmental services, refueling under special conditions, insurance and safety services provided by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran tightened its grip on the Strait of Hormuz on Feb 28, barring safe passage of vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States following their joint strikes on Iranian territory.
