HONG KONG – Gleneagles Hong Kong, part of the IHH Healthcare multinational network, and SmarTone have jointly launched the first TeleCare SmartHub in the Northern Metropolis, bringing quality telemedicine services directly to the community.
Set up in YOHO Midtown, a large-scale residential estate in Yuen Long developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, SmartHub allows residents to schedule appointments and receive video consultations with Gleneagles’ doctors via a dedicated mobile application, eliminating the need to travel to hospitals or clinics.
SmartHub is equipped with professional health monitoring devices that measure patients’ blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, and other vital signs, enabling the medical team to access real-time health data for clinical reference.
Following consultations, prescribed medications, sick leave certificates and related documents will be delivered to the patients’ registered addresses.
Kenneth Tsang, regional chief executive officer of IHH Healthcare North Asia, said the collaboration exemplifies the complementary strengths of the healthcare and technology sectors, extending professional services beyond traditional care settings into the community.
“By combining our respective expertise, we are extending professional healthcare services beyond traditional care settings and into the community, providing patients with more convenient and timely access to medical support,” he added.
SmarTone CEO Fiona Lau said the company provides 5G network infrastructure to ensure secure and reliable data transmission, expressing the hope that the technology will help break down geographical barriers.
“This partnership with Gleneagles Hong Kong successfully combines the innovative technology applications of SmarTone Solutions with the Northern Metropolis community network, enabling residents to receive video consultations with Gleneagles’ doctors without the hassle of travelling or waiting in queues,” she said.
